    POSITION: FRC Child Care Assistant (temporary position) 

     

    The Putnam Family Resource Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Temporary Child Care Assistant for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. This role is primarily focused on providing tailored support to an individual student within our preschool setting, while also assisting with general FRC child care duties. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic and compassionate, with a passion for helping children reach their potential in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive educational environment.

    Putnam Public Schools offers a strong, collaborative culture of caring educators who leverage resources to nurture and challenge our students. The FRC provides a dynamic public school environment that offers hands-on experience in early childhood education and student support.

     

    MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Individualized Support: Provide direct one-on-one assistance to a specific student to support their academic, social, and emotional engagement throughout the school day.

    • Educational Aid: Help implement age-appropriate activities and provide hands-on support for engaging learning experiences under the supervision of the Head Teacher.

    • Classroom Management: Assist with daily routines and general management to maintain a safe and supportive environment for preschool children.

    • Social-Emotional Growth: Support children's social and emotional development, fostering a culture built on mutual respect, patience, and inclusivity.

    • Collaboration: Work effectively in a team environment, maintaining professional and confidential communication with the FRC Director and classroom staff regarding student progress.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent 

    • Successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment OR at least 60 college credits from an accredited institution. 

    • Child Development Associate (CDA) is preferred.

    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young children, showing patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

    • Ability to follow directions from certified staff, maintain a high degree of professionalism, and ensure confidentiality at all times.


    START DATE: Immediate opening for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year   
     

    RATE OF PAY: $18.93 - $20.88 per hour (based on educational requirements)   ?  Full-Time: 40 hours per week
