Role Description
This is a parallel Senior Frontend Engineer position within the DSP program, focused on the configuration and workflow management surfaces of the platform. While the first frontend engineer owns monitoring dashboards, this role owns the sponsor onboarding, data source configuration, rule engine UI, and study-level governance workflows. You will work directly with clinical data managers and data engineers to translate complex configuration logic into intuitive, validated interfaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement multi-step configuration wizards and form-heavy UIs for sponsor onboarding and study setup workflows.
- Build dynamic rule engine interfaces allowing clinical data managers to define, test, and activate data quality rules without code.
- Develop role-based access control (RBAC) UI components aligned with Unity Catalog permission models and AAD group mappings.
- Implement audit trail viewers and electronic signature workflows compliant with 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
- Integrate with FastAPI backend services for configuration CRUD operations, validation feedback, and workflow state transitions.
- Collaborate with product and UX to translate clinical requirements into intuitive, low-error-rate interfaces.
- Own the configuration module end-to-end: from API contracts to component design to GxP validation documentation.
- Implement form validation patterns using React Hook Form and Zod for type-safe, user-friendly data entry.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (Playwright) covering critical configuration and workflow paths.
- Support IQ/OQ/PQ validation activities by producing and reviewing test scripts for regulated features.
Technical Skills
Required Qualifications
- 5–7 years of professional frontend development experience with React and TypeScript.
- Strong experience building complex, multi-step forms and wizard-style workflows.
- Proficiency with form management libraries (React Hook Form, Formik) and schema validation (Zod, Yup).
- Experience implementing RBAC or permission-driven UI patterns.
- Solid REST API integration skills with attention to error handling and optimistic updates.
- Familiarity with end-to-end testing tools such as Playwright.
- Experience in regulated or compliance-driven environments requiring traceability and validation evidence.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Nice-to-have skills
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Direct experience with GxP systems, 21 CFR Part 11 electronic records/signatures, or clinical data management tools.
- Knowledge of RBAC models and Microsoft Entra ID (AAD) group-based access patterns.
- Familiarity with Databricks Unity Catalog permission concepts (metastore, catalog, schema, table-level grants).
- Experience contributing to or maintaining a design system or component library.
- Understanding of SDTM/CDASH data models or clinical trial data lifecycle.
