Anchor Fabrication has an immediate opening for a highly motivated Inventory Cycle Counter in our Shipping department.
Position Summary:
The Inventory Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records within a fabrication environment by performing daily cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and supporting continuous improvement in material handling processes. This role ensures that raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), finished goods, and consumables are correctly tracked to support production efficiency and on-time delivery. This role is vital to ensuring our customers’ needs are consistently met, promoting our company’s continued strong national growth.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycles count on raw materials (steel, aluminum, bar stock, sheet metal), fabricated components, hardware, and consumables.
- Verify quantities for WIP items are staged on the shop floor and in storage locations.
- Ensure accurate labeling, bin locations, and part numbers for all materials.
- Assist with full physical inventory when required.
- Communicate with manufacturing personnel, the purchasing department, and other Supervisors on material status (shortages, discrepancies, roadblocks)
- Research and resolve inventory variances by working with Purchasing, Production, and Warehouse teams.
- Participate in 5S, lean manufacturing, or warehouse optimization initiatives.
- Take part in 8D and other root cause and corrective analysis for inventory error.
- Move, weigh, and measure materials using pallet jacks, forklifts, cranes, or scales as required.
- Organize and maintain inventory storage areas to ensure proper FIFO/FEFO and accessibility.
- Perform other related duties as instructed.
