POSITION OVERVIEW

 

The CNC Machinist will be Familiar working in a job-shop environment operating Hanwah, Tsugami CNC Swiss Turning Machines using Fanuc controls.  Perform complete changeovers and achieve first piece inspections through executing required program edits / offsets.  Accurately measure parts and complete associated quality documentation while ensuring production output is achieved.  Operate other CNC Turning or Milling Machines when needed.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Retrieve job related information: routing, drawing, program, inspection sheets, etc.
  • Review raw material for dimensions, quantity, defects, maintain heat lot traceability
  • Perform all change-over related activities through first piece inspection, edits-offsets
  • Utilize precision tools and gages to measure part features / dimensions and document results according to in-process quality inspection requirements and AQL sampling intervals.
  • Detect and troubleshoot machining and programming issues as they occur  
  • Operate secondary equipment to finish and clean parts for subsequent operations
  • Maintain high level of awareness and attention to detail to achieve quality and production results   
  • Utilize PC or Laptop to record labor and production information
  • Train other operators as needed on job related items
  • Follows prescribed safety rules and procedures for all work
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and keep work area in a clean orderly condition.
  • Provide end-of-shift report activities
