GENERAL SUMMARY:

***The Medical Assistant II meets the following requirements in addition to the requirements of the Medical Assistant I job description:

The Medical Assistant I (MA) performs direct patient care activities under the direction of a licensed provider in the Family Medicine (FM) clinic within his/her scope of practice (RCW 18.360.050). The MA I supports the provider, nurse, or other staff with the daily coordination of patient care and patient access by organizing patient flow, collecting patient information, entering all patient information and clinical data in the electronic medical record (EMR), communicating key information with the physician/provider, and anticipating and acting on patient needs proactively. The MA I demonstrates excellence in customer service during interactions with employees, managers/supervisors, patients, patient family members, physicians, and other customers, and works collaboratively with colleagues and departments throughout the organization to provide optimal patient outcomes. Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
