LPN / EMT / Paramedic – Addiction Treatment & Medical Detox
Join our dedicated team at a New Life Treatment Center providing behavioral health services and medically monitored detox, including medication administration (oral, IM, and IV) and in-house blood draws. The Addiction Treatment LPN / EMT / Paramedic provides direct patient care under the direction of the Director of Nursing and Medical Director. This role supports individuals who require medical monitoring, mental health assessment, intervention strategies, and structured treatment planning to successfully battle addiction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Utilize clinical knowledge and skills to safely implement therapeutic and rehabilitative care
- Conduct vital signs and ongoing assessments every shift
- Administer medications accurately (including IV therapy when indicated), observe patient response, and document in the medical record.
- Perform MAR audits, ensure compliance, complete narcotic counts, and dispose of medications per policy.
- Maintain clear communication among clients, staff, and Director of Nursing.
- Assist with admissions and discharges.
- Provide thorough change-of-shift reports with relevant client updates.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.
- Document treatment goals, assessments, and patient outcomes in accordance with established policies and standards.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task in healthcare environment.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, apply mathematical concepts, and use sound reasoning.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Regular standing, use of hands, talking, and hearing.
- Occasionally sitting, climbing, or balancing.
- Ability to sweep, mop, shovel, and lift up to 40 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Healthcare setting.
- Occasional exposure to wet, humid, or outdoor conditions
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid LPN licensure in the State of Minnesota (OR EMT/Paramedic licensure as applicable)
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment). Will train. On-site staff are certified Instructors.
