Job Summary:
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of facility buildings and offices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out general cleaning, maintenance, and appearance assignments in a timely manner.
- Clean & maintain restrooms, offices, common areas, and custodial storage to satisfactory standards using established practices and procedures.
- Safely operate, maintain, and inspect custodial equipment. Request for replacements as needed.
- Conduct inventory and maintain an appropriate supply of cleaning products and tools.
- Assist departments with task responsibilities that may arise on an as-needed basis.
- Properly dispose of waste and recyclables.
- Provide a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workstation/environment at all times.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- There are no supervisory responsibilities in this position.
Education and Experience:
- Education: High School or Equivalent
- Experience: No experience required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Familiar with operating, storing, and basic maintenance of custodial equipment supplies.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management.
- Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
- Able to comply with the company’s safety, quality, and environmental policies at all times.
- Must be 18 years of age.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Ability to bend, stand, kneel to lift objects of 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to walk for long period of time around interior and exterior of facility.
- Ability to use stairs and ladders.
- Ability to work in areas subject to loud noise levels, odor, and airborne particles.
- Ability to be respirator fit tested.
