Summary
Bethany High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our athletic department as an Assistant High School Boys Basketball Coach. This full-time position is ideal for someone who is committed to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes. The ideal candidate will work closely with the head coach to develop players' skills, promote teamwork, and instill a strong work ethic both on and off the court.

Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and implementing daily practices, game strategies, and training sessions.
- Support the recruitment and retention of student-athletes, ensuring a positive experience for all participants.
- Provide individual and team instruction in basketball fundamentals, techniques, and strategies.
- Monitor student-athlete academic performance and promote a balance between athletics and academics.
- Help organize and manage team logistics, including travel arrangements, equipment inventory, and scheduling.
- Foster a culture of sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork among players.
- Collaborate with other coaching staff, athletic department personnel, and parents to support the overall goals of the program.
- Assist in scouting opponents and analyzing game footage to improve team performance.
- Attend staff meetings, coaching clinics, and professional development opportunities to enhance coaching skills.
- Uphold the values and mission of Bethany High School and the athletic program at all times.

Requirements

- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends, as required by practice and game schedules.
- Must pass a background check and comply with all school and district policies.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
