Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Central Admissions member to help run the admissions process for new and returning residents from home, hospitals, or other healthcare settings, ensuring the facility operates at full capacity. This leadership role is responsible for managing Medicare, Medicaid, and private admissions, while fostering positive relationships with healthcare professionals and the community. Compensation will be reflective of candidate's experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to all referral inquiries from healthcare facilities, community members, and individuals, coordinating admission dates and scheduling appointments.
- Collaborate with internal departments to facilitate a seamless admission process, adhering to facility policies.
- Verify insurance benefits and confirm coverage with carriers.
- Complete all required admission documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, senior centers, social workers, discharge planners, and case managers to drive referrals and ensure satisfaction with the facility.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare admissions and insurance verification.
- Proficiency in CarePort software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to understand and execute both oral and written instructions effectively.
Requirements:
- Excellent organizational, planning, and customer service skills.
- Experience in reviewing clinical referrals and managing intake processes.
- In-depth knowledge of hospital discharge planning and policies related to long-term care populations.
- Familiarity with IDPH and HFS regulations regarding admissions, discharges, and resident rights.
