Reports To: Scientist

We are currently looking for a Synthesis Chemist to join the Research and Development team based in Collierville, TN. The Synthesis Chemist will be responsible for developing cutting-edge composites and coating thermoset resins. This is a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative, growth-focused environment to contribute to the advancement of thermoset resin technologies. 

Responsibilities

  • Design and perform hands-on laboratory experiments to support composite and coatings product development.
  • Operate and oversee pilot plant production to scale up innovations.
  • Collaborate with customers and colleagues.
  • Document experiment processes and findings.
  • Adhere to safety standards, company policies and government regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • B.S. or higher in Chemistry or related field from a regionally accredited institution 
  • 1+ years of formulations experience; Experience in composites or coatings is a plus
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. 
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office and computer systems
  • Strong organization, project management, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willing and able to travel up to 5% annually
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
