FUNCTION: Ensure the smooth operation of assigned department; create high
sales volume area with a pleasant atmosphere, high employee morale, and
good customer service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides a continuous flow of communication with the Area Merchandiser of
assigned department.
2. Ensures proper presentation of merchandise; including but not limited to
ticketing, signing, sizing, and display.
3. Works with buyers and managers on visual fixtures, merchandise layout, and
displays.
4. Available to work with buyers and area merchandiser during in store visits.
5. Prepares the department for receipt and placement of daily merchandise
shipments.
6. Understand and carry out all company policies and procedures.
7. Take inventories and maintain unit control records/ reports as requested by
management or Buyers.
8. Daily fill-ins from under stock or back stock.
9. Learn the duties and responsibilities of an Area Merchandiser including
merchandising and operations as assigned by the store manager.
10. Motivates sales staff to encourage high sales productivity.
11. Ensures customer service with a smile at all times in their department.
12. Promotes the opening of charge accounts and gift card purchase.
13. Acts to prevent shoplifting and internal shrinkage. Works with security to
report matters of dishonesty.
14. Works in sales capacity or cashier capacity as needed.

EDUCATION: B.S. /B.A. Degree or equivalent work experience.
TRAITS: Professional appearance, energetic, motivated, and inquisitive, sense of
urgency, and an eye for detail. Ability to organize and interpret information.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB: The physical demands listed are representative of
those that must be met to successfully perform the job: Required to stand, walk,
talk, or hear, use hands, and have ability to reach overhead. Regular lifting or
moving of up to 25lbs, possible up to 50lbs. Requires bending, stooping, and
ability to climb stairs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color
vision, and ability to adjust focus.
