Job Description

Due to an upcoming department transfer, Pivot Point, a manufacturer of non-threaded fasteners in Hustisford, WI, is looking for a Full Time Receiving Clerk.

This is a 1st shift Monday-Friday position.

 

Summary

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for stocking, assembling and routing various types of material by performing the following duties according to Pivot Point's stocking, accuracy, efficiency and safety standards.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Transports materials by using hands or handcarts
  • Alerts inaccuracies to lead person or supervisor.
  • Compile parts for shipment and wraps, ties or places parts in envelopes, boxes or other containers.
  • Follows basic order flow including proper use of hold areas.
  • Computer entry.
  • Scale check procedures.
  • Follows safety procedures and reports unsafe conditions to lead person or supervisor.
  • Loads and unloads trucks.
  • Performs forklift safety check and forklift operation to transport materials.
  • Cycle counting
  • Intermediate cycle count including computer use to adjust inventory quantities.
  • Basic receiving duties, including acknowledgement of receipt of purchase orders on computer, scale counting incoming parts, labeling merchandise, and stocking.
  • Scale weigh parts.
  • Receiving inspection by performing quality checks on parts to print or chart by use of rules, calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Unpacks shipment and verifies completeness of shipments against records.
  • Handles incoming nonconforming goods according to company policy.
  • Uses computer to receive orders.
  • Ensures perpetual inventory is accurate.
  • Complete miscellaneous paperwork.
  • Is flexible to work in other departments, such as shipping, lower dock, and/or assembly and works well with all other department personnel.
  • Promotes the company mission statement, vision and follows all safety and ISO procedures.

 

Minimum qualifications:

--Minimum High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

--Requires 2+ years recent manufacturing experience.

--Experience with using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and comparitor to check quality of parts.

--Wisconsin Driver's License and clear driving record.

--Strong attention to detail and math skills with ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, metric, and decimals.

--Capability to drive Box truck.

 

Strong qualified candidates will also have:

--Prior experience in Receiving and/or Shipping/Material Handling.

--Forklift experience or ability to train to become forklift certified driver.

--Experience working in a metal manufacturing environment.

--Solid work history.

 

Physical Requirements:

--Frequently stand and walk for long periods of time, talk, hear and use hands and arms to reach and handle small parts and boxes/totes.

--Occasionally climb and/or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

--Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

--Occasionally move 3/400 pound barrels with tow wheel hand- cart alone or with assistance.

--Good close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

--Ability to handle exposure to a variety of noise levels, working in a production environment.
