About Us:
We’re a fast-growing, privately held insurance company on a path to becoming a leading U.S. retail platform. We believe every client and customer relationship holds the potential to become something greater—and the same is true for our people. As we grow, we’re redefining how great talent connects with meaningful work, enabling our ambitious strategy while building a culture of high performance, creativity, and partnership. If you’re energized by complex valuation work, modernizing actuarial models, and translating financial results into meaningful business insights across multiple reporting frameworks, this role offers significant impact and opportunity.

About the Role:
You’ll be responsible for end‑to‑end actuarial processes supporting model development, valuation, and reporting of U.S. GAAP, Statutory, Tax, and Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet (EBS) financials. This role also leads earnings projections under U.S. GAAP and statutory frameworks and serves as a key actuarial partner supporting financial analysis, reporting accuracy, governance, and strategic initiatives across the organization.

What You’ll Do:

Valuation, Reporting & Projections

  • Perform quarterly and annual valuation of insurance liabilities under U.S. GAAP, Statutory, Tax, and Bermuda EBS frameworks
  • Analyze and explain drivers of reserve movements and actual‑to‑expected (A/E) earnings variances
  • Support financial reporting deliverables, including disclosures and management reporting
  • Develop and maintain U.S. GAAP, Statutory, and EBS earnings projections to support A/E analysis and business planning

Modeling & Systems

  • Convert existing valuation models from ArcVal to ALFA and develop new product valuation models in collaboration with Data and Modeling teams
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain actuarial models (ALFA) for valuation and projection purposes
  • Ensure model accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with business needs and regulatory requirements
  • Drive automation, model enhancements, and process optimization initiatives

Controls, Governance & Documentation

  • Establish and maintain robust controls over actuarial models, data, and valuation processes
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, actuarial standards of practice, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of methodologies, assumptions, and processes to support audit and governance standards

Assumptions, Experience & Analysis

  • Develop, review, and update key actuarial assumptions, including mortality, lapse, and expenses
  • Perform experience studies, sensitivity testing, and scenario analysis
  • Provide insight into earnings volatility, reserve adequacy, and capital impacts

Business Support & Cross‑Functional Partnership

  • Partner with underwriting, finance, risk, and M&A teams on product development, reinsurance transactions, and strategic initiatives
  • Support pricing and evaluation of reinsurance deals and assist with treaty structuring and review
  • Provide actuarial expertise to interpret financial results and inform management decision‑making

Audit & Regulatory Support

  • Support internal and external audit processes, including preparation of documentation and responses to review requests
  • Monitor regulatory developments and recommend, develop, and implement updates to valuation and reporting practices

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent education and experience)
  • 5+ years of actuarial experience with exposure to a broad range of insurance products
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting frameworks, including FAS 60, FAS 91, and FAS 97
  • Solid knowledge of LDTI and its impact on valuation and financial reporting
  • Experience with products including FIA, FIUL, UL, Deferred and Payout Annuities, and Traditional Life; direct and reinsurance experience preferred
  • Proficiency with actuarial modeling platforms such as MG‑ALFA or similar systems (e.g., AXIS, Prophet)
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build, automate, and optimize complex analyses
  • Hands‑on experience coding, validating, and maintaining valuation models and systems
  • Experience with PBR / VM‑20 preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in end‑to‑end development of U.S. GAAP (PGAAP) financials, including model development, assumption setting, validation, and audit documentation
  • Strong understanding of model governance, controls, and documentation standards

Core Competencies:

  • Valuation & Financial Reporting Expertise: Deep experience across U.S. GAAP, Statutory, Tax, and EBS frameworks, with strong command of valuation mechanics and financial interpretation.
  • Actuarial Modeling & Systems Leadership: Proven ability to design, enhance, govern, and modernize actuarial models while improving efficiency, controls, and transparency.
  • Analytical Reasoning & Financial Insight: Ability to analyze complex actuarial results, explain drivers of financial outcomes, and translate analysis into actionable insights.
  • Governance, Controls & Regulatory Acumen: Strong focus on actuarial governance, documentation, and compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Cross‑Functional Partnership & Influence: Effective collaborator who partners across underwriting, finance, risk, M&A, and leadership teams to support business objectives.

What We Offer:

  • A collaborative, inclusive environment that values authenticity, accountability, and partnership
  • The opportunity to join the company at an exciting stage of growth, where colleagues are empowered to build what’s next
