The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides support and skills training to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting and within the community.
Ten people, both men and women, live throughout the Birchwood Village Apartments. Located in Kingston, it has the benefit of being in close proximity to ample local events, restaurants, and activities. Whatever the activity or destination is, the energetic and dedicated team of DSPs at the Birches are ready to support someone as they attain their life goals and dreams, teaching them the skills to live independently.
A high school diploma or GED is desired. Post-high-school education in Human Services is a definite plus. An acceptable NYS driver's license and basic computer knowledge are a must. An informative, paid new hire orientation is provided in a comfortable learning environment. Training will also include Van Certification, SCIP, First Aid/CPR, and Medication Administration certification.
HOURS: 31/Wednesday and Thursday 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm/Friday 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm/Saturday 9:00 am to 9:00 pm
STARTING SALARY: $ 18.26 to $ 20.09 per hour, with additional shift differentials as applicable
