Job Description

 


Report To: Building Principal


 


Job Description: The mathematics teachers must possess a strong foundation in mathematics and is proficient in preparing and implementing the lesson designs for junior high school students.


 


Qualifications: Must hold or be eligible to receive a valid Arkansas Teaching License with Grade 4-8 or 7-12 Certification in Secondary Mathematics


                                                                                                      


Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Teaches courses in mathematics at the high school level in accordance with the Arkansas state standards.

  • Utilizes curriculum and pacing guides, adopted course of study and other materials in planning lesson plans and teaching outlines.

  • Participate in curriculum review and design

  • Implement a variety of instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives

  • Diagnose and evaluates student abilities and progress in a timely manner.

  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning

  • Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.

  • Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers and instructional coaches.

  • Othe duties as assigned.


 


Other Job Responsibilities:



  • Abide by state statues, code of ethics, school board policies and regulations

  • Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators and supervisors

  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.

  • Remain current on instructional practices in education. (e.g. instructional technology)
