Job Description

Job Summary
Mora High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long Term Substitute Family and Consumer Sciences (FaCS) Teacher to join our educational team. This position is designed to provide temporary coverage for a FaCS teacher on leave, ensuring that students receive a high-quality educational experience during this period. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, a strong understanding of family and consumer sciences, and the ability to engage students in hands-on learning experiences.

Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and relevant lessons in Family and Consumer Sciences, covering topics such as nutrition, child development, and family relationships.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and the school curriculum.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, projects, and exams, providing timely feedback.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student participation and collaboration.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student performance and classroom activities.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support interdisciplinary learning and student success.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by school administration.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences, Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in Family and Consumer Sciences or eligibility for a substitute teaching license.
- Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of family and consumer sciences curriculum and best teaching practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and promoting student success.
