POSITION SUMMARY
This 6-week program is designed exclusively for Leech Lake Band members aged 14-15 to develop professional skills, teamwork, and personal development. Participants will gain valuable work experience while contributing to various departments within Cedar Lakes Casino, White Oak Casino, Northern Lights Casino, and Leech Lake Gaming.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with Departmental Tasks
Support various departments by performing age-appropriate duties such as filing, organizing supplies, cleaning work areas, or assembling materials needed for daily operations. - Provide Customer-Friendly Service
Greet guests with a friendly attitude, offer directions within the facility, or assist with handing out promotional materials under supervision—helping build communication and hospitality skills. - Support Event and Activity Setup
Help set up and take down tables, signage, or supplies for community events, meetings, or internal functions hosted by the casino or its departments. - Observe and Learn Operational Functions
Shadow team members in departments like administration, housekeeping, or food service to gain insight into how casino operations run and the importance of teamwork and reliability. - Participate in Development Workshops
Attend scheduled workshops or check-ins focused on resume-building, interview skills, workplace expectations, and goal setting to enhance personal and professional growth. - Responsible for knowing all events in the property as a whole.
- Facilitate and/or attend all mandatory meetings and training.
- Must have ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Sensitivity to Native American Culture.
- Operate within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
- Secure the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
- Other duties as assigned.
