The Department of
Emergency Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking a full-time
APRN-CNP (Nurse Practitioner)
Responsibilities include providing comprehensive clinical care
within the Emergency Department at UI Health within parameters of medical staff
privileges for an assigned patient as determined by the scope of practice
guidelines and specialty, completion of health assessments, determining
diagnosis, planning and prescribing treatment.  The APN will participate
in the educational experiences of student and resident learners.  

Qualifications:

Completion of a
master's/post-master's degree in a nurse practitioner educational program
accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE)
or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) with
emphasis on adult-gerontology acute care, family, emergency and trauma
nurse practitioner. OR Completion of a Physician Assistant training
program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for
the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
Current license as an APRN-CNP
or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) in the State of Illinois required.
Current American Heart
Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, ACLS and PALS required
Current Controlled Substance
licensure and Federal DEA required.
Effective communication skills
(oral and written) that facilitate therapeutic relationships between
physicians, APRN and PA providers as well as multi-disciplinary care team.
Demonstrated experience in
leadership, multidisciplinary collaboration, interpersonal communication,
education, clinical experience.
Ability to meet all
requirements for medical staff privileges at UI Health

Preferred Qualifications:
1 year prior experience in ED setting or urgent care
