EXAMINATION PROCEDURES
This is a merged promotional and open competitive recruitment. The examination may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test, performance test and/or structured oral interview.

To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each part of the examination process. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each part of the examination. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Commission Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be twelve (12) months. The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill current and future vacancies.

Date of Examination
The date of the examination(s) will be announced at a later date. Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email, and/or telephone of the time, date and place of the examination(s).

POSITION DETAILS
The Fullerton School District is seeking enthusiastic and qualified individuals to fill two full-time Social Service Assistant Bilingual positions. As a Social Service Assistant, you will act as a liaison with parents and the community concerning students and families of students with school attendance problems. The position will also assist school families who may be eligible for various community services. This individual will assist in the implementation of various social service programs.

The current vacancy is an 8-hour/day, 40-hour/week position and 9.50 months/year. The anticipated working hours will be Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. This 9.5-months/year position comes with paid holidays, sick leave, and vacation. The District offers a comprehensive prorated benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education: Equivalent to graduation from high school
Experience: Any combination equivalent to two years of practical experience in working with community service organizations or youth groups with an emphasis on helping to counsel children with behavioral, educational, or disciplinary problems.
Other:
*Knowledge of the Fullerton School community and other community service organizations.
*Ability to understand program and school site policies and effectively communicate these to parents; maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with students, fellow employees, teachers, and administrative staff.
*Special Note: The current vacancy is a site that requires the incumbent to be bilingual (Spanish).
