SHIFT COORDINATOR

Salary Range: $140,000-$160,000
Schedule: 4 on, 4 off (2 day shifts, 2 night shifts,12-hours each)
YOUR ROLE
Reporting to the Fibreline Manager, the Shift Coordinator will be responsible for providing leadership to the crews ensuring the safe and effective performance of their duties. The Shift Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all legislated environmental and regulatory requirements that pertain to training the crew in safe operation of the equipment are met. The Shift Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that department health and safety, environmental compliance, quality, production, cost and customer satisfaction objectives are continuously met.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
ü Assure safety awareness, safe work, safety training and compliance with safety procedures and policies in all work performed by the crew members
ü Conduct equipment and housekeeping inspections of the Fibreline and write work orders when deficiencies are observed
ü Provide leadership, supervision, training and coaching to production line employees
ü Communicate mill and department performance levels and standards to Operators
ü Recommend and initiates solutions for continuous improvement
ü Coordinate department production activities to meet Company and Department goals
ü Work with Maintenance to complete shutdowns and maintenance work, as safely and efficiently as possible
ü Maintain budgeted production requirements at planned quality with the lowest possible cost
ü Work with maintenance staff to determine ways to improve the reliability of equipment and systems
ü Coordinate production start ups, shutdowns and changeovers
ü Be responsible for quality control, make adjustments as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
ü A minimum of 3 years of experience in pulp operations
ü A demonstrated high standard of performance and the ability to lead others
ü Strong analytical, trouble-shooting and decision making skills
ü In depth knowledge of maintenance and production planning
ü An advanced knowledge of safety and pulping operations
ü A team leader with a positive attitude that will continuously pursue improvement strategies to ensure safety and quality and build rapport with the crews
ü Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
ü A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is considered an asset
ü Strong computer system aptitude and experience working with various types of software including Microsoft Office Suite; previous experience using SAP is an asset.
