Job Description

Prime Field Service is seeking elite-level Precision Millwrights to join our Field Service division supporting critical operations in the mining and power generation sectors. Our team is trusted to execute high-complexity mechanical projects in demanding environments, and we are looking for professionals who bring advanced technical mastery, field leadership, and precision execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute full-cycle disassembly, repair, precision alignment, and reassembly of complex industrial systems, including turbines, crushers, conveyors, and rotating equipment.
  • Perform advanced laser alignment, vibration mitigation, and tolerance verification to OEM and engineered specifications.
  • Diagnose and resolve critical mechanical failures through systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Lead or support heavy rigging operations, including lifts, equipment setting, and structural installation using cranes and specialized rigging systems.
  • Perform precision fitting techniques, including shrink-fit procedures and controlled assembly methods.
  • Conduct field welding (SMAW) and support fabrication tasks as required.
  • Interpret and apply technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Maintain comprehensive service documentation, ensuring compliance with safety standards and client specifications.
  • Uphold strict adherence to industrial safety protocols and best practices in high-risk environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of industrial millwright experience, with demonstrated work on complex or large-scale equipment.
  • Advanced proficiency in:
  • Precision alignment (laser systems preferred)
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Blueprint and schematic interpretation
  • Proven experience with crane operations, rigging, and heavy equipment handling.
  • Strong working knowledge of industrial installation, layout, and mechanical systems integration.
  • Ability to travel extensively (up to 80%) to project sites across multiple states.
  • Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs regularly and working in demanding field conditions.
  • Possession of a complete professional-grade millwright toolset.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.

Preferred / Differentiating Qualifications

  • NCCER certification or equivalent formal training
  • Experience in mining, power generation, or heavy industrial environments
  • Advanced rigging certifications or signalperson qualification
  • Experience with precision measurement tools and predictive maintenance technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to lead small crews or mentor junior technicians
