Substitutes are needed in all schools for the following positions:

• Teacher


• Instructional Assistant


• Secretary


• Child Nutrition Program Assistant 


• Custodian


• School Health Assistant (EMT-B Certification Required)


• School Nurse (RN licensure or EMT-B Certification required)

Steps to becoming a substitute in ACPS

1. Apply online*


2. Register for a sub workshop.


3. Get a background check done.**


4. Fill out tax forms and payroll information**


5. We will set you up in the sub system once all paperwork is complete and email you a copy of your login information.

*We do not make contact with you after you have applied. Please register for a sub workshop on our webaite as soon as you apply. 

**Steps 3 and 4 can be completed when you are in the building for the sub workshop.
