Job Description
Department Overview:

The School of Dentistry shares the mission of the Oregon Health & Science University to provide educational programs, basic and clinical research, and high quality care and community programs. We strive to foster an environment of mutual respect where the free exchange of ideas can flourish. The dental school prepares graduates in general dentistry and the dental specialties to deliver compassionate and ethical oro-facial health care.

Function/Duties of Position:

The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university¿s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.

 

This position reports to (supervisor): Dr. Lyndie Foster Page, Associate Dean Dental Public Health

 

The duties of this position include:

  • Providing direct patient care to Russell Street Patients
  • Participation in the education of residents and dental students, establishment and maintenance of a program of specific and general scholarly activity
  • Clinical teaching in a clinical setting at the both the graduate and predoctoral level
  • Other activities: participating in dental research (including clinical research), participating in strategic planning activities, delivering continuing dental education 


Required Qualifications:
  • Oregon Dental License, unrestricted, (or eligibility to obtain prior to employment)
  • Dental degree (DDS/DMD) unrestricted, from a CODA accredited school
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Ability to leverage creativity, resourcefulness, and sound judgment in the analysis and resolution of dental and administrative problems; strong leadership, teamwork, and crisis management skills
  • Comprehensive skill and ability to apply modern methods, principles and practices of four-handed and advanced general dentistry. 


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual in English and additional languages is encouraged
  • Public health experience
