As the Administrative Assistant for Student Life & Community Engagement, you will play a key role in keeping daily operations running smoothly while helping bring student programs, events, and services to life. This position supports a dynamic department dedicated to fostering belonging, involvement, and success for students across campus.

Working closely with department leadership, you will provide essential administrative support, coordinate schedules and events, assist with communications, and help ensure students, staff, and community members receive timely and accurate information. Position Duties

  1. Perform basic secretarial support functions using modern office procedures and equipment. Examples include answering phones, preparing correspondence, data entry, maintaining filing systems, processing incoming/outgoing mail and other similar duties.
  2. Gather and provide general program information to students, faculty, staff and the public. Refer issues or concerns to appropriate party for resolution.
  3. Maintain supervisor's or department's calendars, schedule appointments and meetings, including travel as required. Assist in the preparation of program materials for meetings or other distribution. May assist in coordinating special events.
  4. Track department budget accounts and office supplies, record expenditures and facilitate supply orders according to established procedures. Process invoices for payment.
  5. Prepare a variety of college forms required by the daily operation of the program.
  6. May direct student workers or other workers.
  7. May serve as Web content administrator for the area assigned.
  8. With experience, may sometimes be required to work independently.
  9. With increased knowledge of program policies and procedures, may be required to exercise independent judgment and initiative.
  10. May assist in the preparation of program reports required by federal and/or state law.
  11. May administer exams and/or require cash handling.
  12. Adhere to college, federal and state administrative procedures, guidelines, initiatives and directives to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations affecting college operations.
  13. Perform other tasks of a similar nature or level as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED, AND
  • 2 years related experience, or 30 semester hours of college credit, OR
  • Possession of skills, knowledge and behaviors as outlined int he position's core competencies below:
