About the role:

Are you interested in hands-on human resources work and curious about how HR practices are built from the ground up in a project environment? We are actively searching for an intern to join IAMGOLD’s Nelligan Project as an Industrial Relations / HR Student and gain practical experience supporting the implementation and structuring of key HR processes within a strategic mining project.

In this role, you will work closely with the Human Resources team to support onboarding, HR policies and tools, and various projects related to the start-up and development of the Nelligan Project. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop real-world HR experience while contributing to impactful, long-lasting deliverables.

The duration of this internship is May 4, 2026 until August 28, 2026. 


Responsibilities:

What You’ll Do

  1. Onboarding & Integration
    1. Participate in the design and implementation of a structured onboarding and integration process for new employees.
    2. Document onboarding steps, including pre-arrival, first day, and integration period.
    3. Help develop tools and materials to support a consistent employee experience.
  2. HR Policies & Practices
    1. Support the integration, organization, and updating of HR policies and procedures.
    2. Help ensure HR documentation is clear, consistent, and accessible for employees and managers.
  3. Manager Toolkit Development
    1. Contribute to the development of an HR toolkit for managers, including:
      1. Practical guides
      2. Checklists and templates
      3. HR management tools
    2. Assist with structuring and presenting tools to facilitate ease of use in the field.
  4. HR Project Support
    1. Provide support to various HR initiatives related to the start-up and ongoing development of the Nelligan Project.
    2. Assist with ad hoc HR projects as required.

 

Key Skills & Knowledge:

What You Bring

  • Currently enrolled in a university program in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, or a related field.

  • Completion of at least two (2) years of your degree program.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (French required; English an asset).

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and professional writing skills.

  • Interest in operational HR and project-based environments.

  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail and structure.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

  • Knowledge of industrial or mining environments is considered an asset.

  • Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.
