Outpatient services include behavioral health, nursing, and psychiatric assessment, stabilization and medication maintenance services as well as crisis intervention services as well as awareness, education and recovery groups.

Position Overview:
River Edge is currently seeking a Full-time General Clerk for Baldwin Outpatient Services. Under the supervision of the Outpatient Supervisor, the Clerk will play a key role in providing technical and administrative support.
Schedule: Monday to Friday: 8:30am- 5:00pm
FLSA Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet visitors, clients, staff, with excellent customer service.
- Conduct client interviews to assess their needs for outpatient P.O.E. processes.
- Explain River Edge protocols and outpatient admission procedures, including HIPAA for ROI's, consents, and financial applications.
- Inform clients of additional services they may qualify for.
- Ensure clients sign a letter of agreement for payment if their insurance is out-of-network.
- Verify client information to initiate the admission process.
- Submit medical record requests to external agencies.
- Provide insurance information for eligibility verification, allowing clients to be added to clinician schedules.
- Ensure clients sign all required consents, ROI's, and financial applications.
- Complete verification checklists for lawful U.S. presence, if applicable.
- Update and maintain client information.
- Keep daily intake reports for P.O.E.s.
- Handle and make ongoing phone calls to external agencies, explaining the walk-in process.
- Send information for scheduling BHAN updates, when necessary.
- Assist other clerical staff with tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/ GED equivalent
- At least 1 year of providing behavioral health service.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- At least 1 year of clerical experience
- 2 Professional references (Former employers only, no family members)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a high paced environment.
- Experience with electronic records.
- All applicants must pass a satisfactory background clearance and pre-employment drug test.
