Location: Timișoara (with regular travel within the assigned territory)

This is the role

As Area Sales Manager, you will build and develop a strong network of distributors and key stakeholders to secure ROCKWOOL’s market position in the GBI and ETICS/EWI segments. You will drive sales growth, strengthen customer relationships and ensure excellent technical and commercial support across the value chain.

Key responsibilities

Sales & technical support

  • Plan and execute distribution sales activities for GBI & ETICS/EWI in your area.

  • Maintain and expand the distributor network; negotiate and renew sales contracts in line with ROCKWOOL policies (sales, supply chain and risk management).

  • Build long‑term relationships with distributors and customers to increase satisfaction and retention.

  • Provide technical and commercial support, including presentations, trainings, seminars and participation in fairs/events.

  • Develop business up the value chain: architects, specifiers, owners, contractors, installers.

  • Promote ROCKWOOL systems and new products; identify market opportunities and customer needs.

  • Monitor contract compliance (payment terms, credit limits) and follow up on payment behaviour in cooperation with internal teams.

  • Act as a backup for sales colleagues when needed and contribute to local marketing planning.

Business administration

  • Conduct ongoing market and competitor analysis; gather relevant market intelligence.

  • Build and execute annual action plans with clear objectives.

  • Deliver regular reporting: weekly/monthly activity reports, forecasts, sales budgets and expense tracking.

  • Escalate any incidents that may create risk or liability for the business.

  • Participate in internal sales meetings and support ad‑hoc business tasks as required.

This is who you are

  • Strong knowledge of the construction market.

  • 3+ years of B2B sales experience in construction/building materials (distribution sales preferred).

  • Proven ability to build networks, negotiate and influence stakeholders.

  • Independent, well‑organised and results‑oriented; high integrity and strong teamwork mindset.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Fluent English (Romanian native level expected).

  • Driving licence (Category B) and willingness to travel regularly.
