Pay Rate:  $37.35 - $46.69
Position Summary

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate ultrasound services consistent with professional practice standards to optimize patient outcomes and promote interdisciplinary communication. He/she is responsible to practice within their scope of licensure in accordance with approved policies, procedures and protocols. Non-invasive studies are conducted according to provider directives using training in ultrasound scanning techniques and applying knowledge of cardiovascular disease. Results are documented into the electronic patient health record and communicated to provider.

    • Standard Work Duties: LRHPG Sonographer
    • Compile information that is gathered during sonographic procedures, selects and records representative images demonstrating normal anatomy and/or variants and/or pathological conditions.
    • Able to select the appropriate images to scan based on providers orders.
    • Able to correctly positon patients for optimal scanning of testing area. Able to identify scanning parameters needed for optimal and concise studies for effective physician interpretation.
    • Engage safety and infection control standards at all times to prevent cross-contamination with patients.
    • Assists with scheduling to ensure smooth patient flow and optimal use of equipment.
    • Role models through professional development, continuous learning, and improvement of competence in the practice Echocardiography.
    • Actively participates in team development and quality improvement measures.


Competencies & Skills

Essential:

  • Advanced technical skills in delivering care in the ambulatory setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of human anatomy.
  • Knowledge of routine and specialized ultrasound procedures.


Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Associate Degree
 

Essential:

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
 

Essential:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • Registered Diagnositc Medical Sonographer

Other information:

Licenses Preferred: Current Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in more than one specialty.

Experience Essential: One year Diagnostic Medical Vascular Sonography imaging experience.
