    Position Overview:
    Danbury Public Schools is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Parent Educator at the Family Resource Center located at Morris Street School. The Parent Educator will support families with young children by coordinating programs, building partnerships, and serving as a critical link between the school and the community.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Plan and lead weekly playgroups for families with young children
    • Organize and coordinate family events and educational opportunities
    • Collaborate with community partners to provide access to resources such as:
      • ESL classes
      • Parenting education
      • Medical, social, and support services
    • Serve as a liaison between families and schools/programs
    • Participate in the Danbury Family-School Partnership Advisory Council
    • Implement the Connecticut Framework for Family-School Partnerships
    • Support families in developing knowledge of child growth and development
    • Perform additional duties that promote strong school-family-community partnerships

    Qualifications:

    • Experience working with young children and their families
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Danbury's diverse population
    • Strong understanding of human growth and development
    • Deep knowledge of Danbury's community resources and supports
    • Bilingual required
    • Associate's degree in any field and a minimum of three years' experience working with families
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry
    • Availability to work nights and weekends

    Working Conditions:

    • Para Union Position
    • 35�40 hours per week (based on program needs; includes nights and weekends)
    • Hourly Rate: $19.70
    • Reports to the Danbury Public Schools Family Resource Center Coordinator and the Director of Family, School, and Community Partnerships
