Summary of Duties
The Volunteer Coordinator serves as a key member of the camp team by recruiting, scheduling, communicating with, and supporting volunteers who serve in various areas of Life Action Camp. This role helps ensure volunteers feel welcomed, equipped, and valued while also ensuring volunteer needs are met for camp programs and events. The Volunteer Coordinator supports the overall camp operation by coordinating volunteer service opportunities that align with camp standards, policies, and the mission of Life Action Camp.
Primary Responsibilities
Recruit and coordinate volunteers for camp events, departments, and seasonal needs.
Maintain volunteer schedules, assignments, and coverage to ensure staffing needs are met.
Communicate clearly with volunteers regarding expectations, arrival times, locations, and responsibilities.
Provide volunteers with orientation, training, and guidance to ensure they are prepared for service.
Serve as a point of contact for volunteers during their time on camp property, offering support and problem-solving as needed.
Work closely with department leaders to identify volunteer needs and create volunteer roles that best serve the camp.
Maintain accurate volunteer records, including contact information, assignments, availability, and required forms.
Assist in developing systems that improve volunteer flow, efficiency, and communication.
Help create a culture of appreciation by ensuring volunteers are thanked, encouraged, and recognized for their service.
Ensure volunteer conduct aligns with camp policies and standards, addressing concerns appropriately and escalating to leadership when needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Adhere to MPD (Ministry Partner Development) requirements as outlined in LAM policies and guidelines.
Physical Demands
This role requires:
Ability to work in an active camp environment, including walking across campus frequently.
Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally bend, lift, and carry supplies.
Ability to work during event days that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
Compensation
The salary for this position will be based on the Ministry Partner Development (MPD) funds that are raised. After a goal for salary is determined the ministry will provide resources and training to help reach that goal.
The business expenses will be covered by Life Action Ministries.
