Education and Experience

  • Extensive experience in aerospace supply chain management, including procurement of high‑complexity and regulated components.
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace quality systems and standards, including AS9100 and ISO 9001.
  • Thorough understanding of export control regulations (ITAR, EAR) and government contracting requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, ERP systems, and data analytics platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and workplace organization principles to optimize material flow and operational efficiency.
  • Advanced negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders
  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) and development programs

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Forecasting

  • Partner with Sales and Program Management to capture customer forecasts and develop time‑phased demand models within the ERP system.
  • Segment planning strategies based on program lifecycle phases, including development, production, and sustainment.
  • Identify, plan for, and secure long‑lead and critical components to support production schedules.

Supplier Development & Procurement

  • Evaluate, select, and onboard suppliers based on customer requirements, certifications, quality history, and technical capability.
  • Lead contract negotiations covering pricing, payment terms, and long‑term agreements to ensure cost stability and supply assurance.
  • Conduct regular supplier business reviews to monitor performance metrics including on‑time delivery, quality, and responsiveness.

Regulatory Compliance & Quality

  • Ensure full compliance with aerospace and government regulations, including ITAR, EAR, DFARS, and customer‑specific requirements.
  • Maintain complete material traceability from origin through installation, including validation of material certifications and First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
  • Manage non‑conforming material through MRB processes and collaborate with suppliers to drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Logistics & Inventory Optimization

  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations, ensuring adherence to aerospace handling, storage, and transportation standards.
  • Implement lean warehousing and workplace organization principles, including 6S practices, to reduce lead times, improve efficiency, and minimize handling damage.
  • Optimize inventory levels using ABC/XYZ classification methods to balance service levels, cash flow, and carrying costs.

Production Coordination & Continuous Improvement

  • Align material availability with the master production schedule to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Engineering, Procurement, and Operations to manage engineering change orders (ECOs) and minimize obsolete or excess inventory.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste, improve supplier and internal processes, and enhance overall supply chain performance.

Leadership & Risk Management

  • Represent the supply chain function on integrated product teams, providing early input on material availability, sourcing risks, and cost drivers during product design and program execution.
  • Develop and execute dual‑sourcing, risk mitigation, and business continuity strategies to address vulnerabilities such as sole‑source suppliers, capacity constraints, and geopolitical disruptions.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to supply chain and procurement team members, fostering accountability and professional development.
