Delta is seeking a Principal Mechanical Architect to serve as the concept-level authority on facility mechanical architecture for hyperscale, AI-factory, and enterprise data center platforms. This is not an engineering-of-record role. The Mechanical Architect defines Delta's point of view on how the data center works as an integrated mechanical system — from facility plant to airflow to white-space integration — through market research, customer research, solution research, and compelling executive-grade presentations.

  • Serve as Delta's recognized authority on data center facility mechanical architecture — the go-to voice for customers, partners, and internal stakeholders on what's possible, what's credible, and what's next.
  • Lead market research in the mechanical domain — competitive landscape scans, technology trend analysis, TAM/SAM studies, and emerging-architecture point-of-view papers that inform Delta BU and product strategy.
  • Lead customer research — deep-listen interviews with hyperscalers, colocation operators, and strategic accounts to surface requirements, pain points, and unmet needs the rest of the organization can build against.
  • Lead solution research — evaluate emerging mechanical technologies, deliver "can it be done — and should it be?" feasibility assessments, and publish concept-level reference architectures and briefings.
  • Develop and deliver customer-facing presentations, white papers, and executive briefings that translate complex mechanical trade-offs (efficiency, scalability, reliability, cost) into compelling narratives and clear recommendations.
  • Represent Delta externally — at customer reviews, industry forums, standards bodies, and analyst briefings — building and defending Delta's credibility as an architecture thought leader in data center facility mechanical architecture.
  • MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Building Systems Engineering, Facility Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of combined experience across architecture, technical marketing, solutions strategy, and customer-facing roles in critical facilities, hyperscale infrastructure, or adjacent high-performance compute environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a thought leader — published work, industry presentations, or equivalent external authority.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint; demonstrated history of developing and delivering executive-grade presentations and concept designs.
  • Strong research and analytical skills — structured market analysis, customer discovery, competitive benchmarking, and trend synthesis.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication — the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling value propositions.
  • Experience working directly with hyperscale data center operators, server OEMs, colocation providers, or critical-infrastructure customers.
