Job Description

Join the Crew That Owns It All: A Career in Diesel Mechanics with Barnes, Inc.

At Barnes, Inc., the wrench you turn isn't just a job-it's ownership in motion. As a 100% employee-owned company rooted in landscape, lawn maintenance, tree care, and snow removal services, we believe in getting our hands dirty together. With nearly 140 dedicated team members and year-round work, we're not just offering a job; we're offering a career where you have a stake in every success.

Right now, we're looking for a full-time Diesel Mechanic to join our crew of hard-working, snow-fighting, engine-tuning problem solvers. If you've got a knack for diagnostics, a passion for diesel power, and take pride in your craft, this could be your next great move.

What You'll Tackle:

You'll be the hands behind the horsepower-maintaining and repairing a wide range of diesel-powered trucks and equipment, including Case, CAT, John Deere, Bobcat, Cummins, Duramax, and Volvo. You'll use electronic diagnostic tools to pinpoint issues, handle routine maintenance, and jump into on-road repairs when the unexpected happens. Rebuilding engines or having welding experience? That's a big plus.

Every day, you'll tackle a list of tasks that keeps our fleet running smoothly. You'll need to think quickly, lift up to 70 lbs when the job calls for it, and roll with a flexible winter schedule-because snow waits for no one.

What's in It for You:

We believe great work deserves great rewards. That's why we offer competitive pay based on your experience and certifications, with bonus pay during snow events. You'll also have the potential to receive a merit-based raise after your 90-day probationary period.

Here's just a glimpse at what being a Barnes employee-owner brings:

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

  • Paid life insurance & paid parental leave

  • 401(k) and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)-yes, you're literally an owner!

  • Paid vacation

  • $200 annual uniform allowance

  • Flex Spending Account

  • Year-round employment with a consistent 8-hour shift (M-F) + seasonal weekend work

What You Bring to the Shop:

  • Diesel Medium and Heavy Truck Technician certification (or equivalent hands-on experience)

  • A valid driver's license (CDL preferred)

  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a drive to get things done

Whether you're rebuilding an engine, grinding through a snowstorm, or simply keeping our fleet humming, your work matters here. At Barnes, you're not just fixing trucks-you're helping build a stronger, more reliable future for a company you own a part of.

Ready to Take the Wheel?

This is more than a mechanic job-it's a chance to grow, to belong, and to own your future. Apply today and become part of the Barnes, Inc. family. We're waiting for someone just like you.
