Newman Early Learning Center is looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our growing team. As an Assistant Teacher, you will support the Lead Teacher in creating a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment for children.
Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Lead Teacher: Assist in planning and implementing daily activities that promote children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Supervise Children: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children, providing attentive care and positive guidance.
- Classroom Environment: Help create and maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming classroom space that fosters learning and creativity.
- Engage with Children: Interact with children through play, learning activities, and one-on-one attention, supporting their growth and development.
- Communicate with Parents: Assist with maintaining open communication with parents/guardians about their child’s progress and daily activities.
- Collaborate with Team: Work closely with the Lead Teacher and other staff members to create a positive and productive learning environment.
- Support Classroom Management: Help implement positive behavior strategies and assist with the management of classroom routines.
- Assist with cleaning responsibilities throughout the school, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma.
- Experience working with young children in a classroom or childcare setting.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A love for working with children and a commitment to their well-being and growth.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
