- Compiling budget information as submitted by schools and formulating the tentative school budget and assist the Business Administration preparation of the annual school budget.
- Responsible to assist in the administration of all phases of the budget throughout the year, including expenditure of the budget throughout the year, including expenditure and revenue projections.
- Performs internal auditing on school activities and petty cash accounts.
- Assists in the analysis, interpretation, and preparation of information for audits at local, county, state and federal levels and prepares documentation and analysis for the comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).
- Prepares financial reports as required by state and federal agencies having jurisdiction over school funds.
- Assists in the preparation of applications for state and federal funds including the submission of applicable reimbursement requests.
- Collects fees and other monies due the Board and is responsible for making cash deposits.
- Assists the oversight of operation and maintenance of all school facilities and custodial, grounds, and maintenance services. Ensures that all local. State, and federal standards for the health and safety of students and staff are in place and that required reports are maintained.
- Assists the Business Administrator in the development and implementation of a multi-year (3 years) Comprehensive Maintenance Plan and the district's Long Range Facilities Master Plan (5 years).
- Assists the Business Administrator in the projections of facility needs and oversight of construction programs. Helps develop educational standards for sites, buildings, and equipment; cooperates with architect and construction supervisors during construction programs.
- Compiles and prepares documentation to the School Development Authority for grant submission.
- Assists in overseeing the efficient operation of the district's food services program; ensures that procedures and practices are in accordance with statute and regulations.
- Works with the Business Administrator on the district's insurance/risk management program.
- Assist the Business Administrator in the safe, efficient operation for the student transportation program; ensure proper maintenance of district-owned buses; reviews routes; and handles the business aspects of contracted transportation services.
- Assists in the supervision and preparation of the district payroll and ensures proper maintenance of records related to auditing requirements, tax laws, and employee benefits. Is responsible for oversight and, as assigned, implementation of health and dental insurance, Section125, and other types of Board � approved employee benefits plan.
- Maintain the investment of Board funds in accordance with statute. Board policy and Board authorization.
- Assists the Business Administrator in developing and updating policies for all aspects of the school business operation.
- Safeguards and manages the retention and disposal of all records and documents in accordance with the requirements of department of Treasury-Records Management Services.
- Performs such other duties as may be prescribed by law or assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or Business Administrator/Board Secretary.

- Required original history background check.

Assistant School Business Administrator
Position Purpose
Under the Supervision of the School Business Administrator and Superintendent of Schools, the Assistant School Business Administrator will assist in the management of the Business Office functions of the school district including, but not limited to, budget and finance, purchasing, transportation, buildings and grounds, food services, safety and risk management, and related areas.

Qualifications Profile
Education
Bachelor's and Masters Degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience
Experience working in a school district preferred.
School District Administration experience preferred.
