Job Description
Danessa Myricks Beauty is seeking a highly organized and execution-driven Senior Manager, Product Development to support the development and launch of new products across color cosmetics and skincare.

This role reports to the Executive Director of Innovation & Product Development and is responsible for executing product development programs from concept through commercialization, ensuring excellence in quality, timing, and cross-functional alignment.

The ideal candidate is a strong operator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about bringing innovative beauty concepts to life through disciplined execution and processes.

This position is onsite, located in Farmingdale, New York.
 
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Own end-to-end execution of product development programs from concept handoff through launch.
  • Translate innovation concepts and briefs provided by the Executive Director into actionable development plans.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, in full, and to brand quality standards.
  • Manage formula development with labs and vendors, ensuring alignment with product vision and performance expectations.
  • Execute shade development and assortment planning, including shade matching, lineup coordination, and gap analysis.
  • Lead internal review processes and consolidate feedback for vendors.
  • Own and maintain project timelines, trackers, and milestone deliverables 
  • Lead weekly development meetings, ensuring clear communication and accountability across stakeholders.
  • Identify risks proactively and drive solutions to maintain timelines.
  • Serve as the liaison between Product Development and cross-functional teams (Marketing, Regulatory, Operations, Packaging).
  • Ensure alignment across all functions on product specifications, claims, and launch timing.
  • Manage relationships with contract manufacturers, labs, and suppliers.
  • Oversee submission cycles, revisions, and approvals.
  • Partner with Packaging teams on development and approvals of primary and secondary components.
  • Coordinate testing with Regulatory (clinical, consumer, compatibility) to support claims and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain accurate product documentation, briefs, and trackers.
  • Support competitive benchmarking and product tracking.
  • Contribute to process improvements to enhance development efficiency.
  • Support product ideation sessions identifying trends, market needs, and brand alignment 
  • Attend on-site formula and shade approvals; including lab development, piloting, line trials and production start up, as needed.
  • Manage product profiles, education materials, and retailer-specific PDP’s.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Executive Director, founder, operations, regulatory, marketing, and package design to ensure programs are tracking against key dates and milestones.
  • Implement processes to ensure a high-quality, on-time, and in-full delivery of all new product development initiatives.
  • Streamline and coordinate participation in industry events, trade shows, summits, and vendor meetings that showcase innovation and newness.
  • Stay abreast of competitive product activity and launches and manage the creation and maintenance of tracking matrices. 
  • Organize and maintain project bins and innovation rooms.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years experience in product development within beauty (color cosmetics strongly preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with formula and packaging development.
  • Understanding of cosmetic testing and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Experience working with external vendors and manufacturers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • May require travel for on-site development, vendor meetings, and trade shows (domestic and internationally as needed).
