Minimum Qualifications:
Current Special Education teaching license or enrolled in an alternative licensure program in the area assigned
Good knowledge of current special education topics and methodologies
Patient, resourceful, flexible and resilient
Successful completion of state-required child maltreatment and background check.
Essential Duties: (other duties may be assigned)
Ability to collaborate with other teachers, administrators and facilitators.
Attend required Professional Development.
Create high standards for students while recognizing the abilities and disabilities of each student.
Create a caring and safe atmosphere.
Willingness to participate in some extracurricular activities.
Attend mandatory teacher’s meetings and parent/teacher conferences. • Establish a positive relationship with parents.
Direct supervision of students.
Maintain adequate student records
