About the Opportunity
Kambo is seeking a Business Energy Advisor (BEA) candidate to join our team in California. As a BEA, you will support the Kambo work in support of a Southern California community-focused business program. The Community Business Program offers a suite of energy efficiency services for hard-to-reach commercial businesses.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering energy-efficiency support services to business customers throughout Riverside and San Bernardino County. The BEA will support program offerings by being the single point-of-contact for all program services -- energy efficiency upgrades, benchmarking and as an energy efficiency advisor. BEA's will be out in the field, engaging with customers face to face and enrolling customers for program participation. BEAs will also support in conducting site assessments, providing project updates, and identifying additional program offerings from local utilities, CCA’s and other agencies. BEA's will build long-term relationships with businesses and engage regularly to support customers as they continue to strive to reduce bill costs. As a BEA you will support and participate in Community Workshops to help raise program awareness, engage the local community and educate commercial businesses.
The successful candidate will receive training through an energy efficiency career training program designed to meet the needs of the clean energy job market. The ideal candidate will possess the right mix of initiative, encompass confidence, clear communication, engaging delivery, desire to learn, and join a thriving field. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about clean energy and serving their community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in, engage with, and learn the materials presented during education and training program (approximately 40 hours of training).
- Collaborate with and support the program team delivery team to conduct community outreach to potential customers, including presentations, and one-on-one meetings as needed.
- Complete equipment assessments with customers that align with program offerings, gather required photos and other necessary documentation to make recommendations.
- Present the corresponding recommendations for services offered by the program and gain commitments by customers to proceed through obtaining necessary signed documents and other required customer information.
- Collect, analyze, and maintain project data to ensure compliance with existing project delivery processes.
- Proactively engage with underrepresented customer segments to ensure equitable program access and benefits.
- Support the successful completion of energy efficiency projects from beginning to end by maintaining communications with the customer and coordinating with the program delivery team.
- Support community workshops by serving as a speaker, displaying active listening and facilitating engagement.
- Participate in weekly check-ins and maintain open, proactive communication with team members and leadership to ensure alignment on priorities, progress, and challenges.
- This role operates with a high level of autonomy; however, regular weekly check-ins and open communication with leadership are required to ensure alignment on priorities and progress. The position also requires consistent and accurate tracking of work hours and mileage for reporting and reimbursement purposes.
- Other duties as assigned to support program delivery and the Energy Advisor position.

Requirements
- This role involves regular walking and standing, as team members will be visiting businesses in person to communicate our offerings. Candidates should be comfortable being on their feet for extended periods and traveling between locations throughout the workday.
- Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office suite of applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with clients and employees.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Must have access to personal vehicle and valid driver's license in the State of California.
- Bilingual Spanish.

Part-time, minimum 20 hours (not to exceed 32hrs/week), flexibility in hours, possible evenings and weekends.
This role is not eligible for company-sponsored benefits such as health insurance; however, it is eligible for participation in the company’s 401(k) plan.
