Job Description:

The primary role of the Underground Dayshift Supervisor is to support the wider supervisory team through the completion of leave management, data integrity, and standards reporting and follow up.  The role also provides support through in field supervision, the completion of statutory checks, and liaising with the Technical Services team.

Production/Operational

  • Primary leave management for mining crews.
  • Data interrogation and integrity checks.
  • Review and report on equipment monitoring and utilisation for use of the Development and Production (crew) Supervisors.
  • Liaise with the Technical Services team and other stakeholders to ensure the crew supervisors infield time is maximised.
  • Coordinate the daily activities of underground miners and ancillary personnel in accordance with weekly production schedule.
  • Attend weekly planning meetings and reviews.
  • Conduct infield supervision at times when crew supervisors are conducting shift planning and hand over meetings.
  • Assist crew supervisors in the completion of statutory checks as requested by the crew supervisor.

Other:

  • Carry out all other duties that may reasonably be required.
Qualifications:
  • New Zealand A or B Grade Tunnel Managers’ Certificate of Competency or the ability to obtain.
  • Controlled Substance Licence suitable for operation at Waihi (preferred).
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
