Oversee local accounting duties and provide support to key stakeholders, including the Revenue Accounting Manager and Senior Manager, Controller, Operational Teams and the Financial Analyst.  In addition, provide accounting support to operating lines of business spanning Hospitality, Retail, Food & Beverage and Overhead departments.

This job is based in Denver, Colorado and current, legal ability to work in the U.S. is required. The base salary range for this role is $70,000-87,000 annually
 
The Sr. Revenue Accountant (“RA”) owns all local revenue accounting functions and has responsibility for the accuracy of daily cash reports and bank reconciliations. The RA is an important partner to the overall Pursuit Finance & Accounting team and the local operational teams they are supporting as the first line of defense against accounting inconsistencies and irregularities.  Partnership with the local Financial Analyst and the shared services Accounting team is critical in efforts to ensure diligence in processes, review and controls where appropriate and being able to adapt and correct course, as needed.
 
In addition, the Sr. Revenue Accountant plays a key role working with Finance and IT to develop new financial and operational reporting tools and leveraging new systems and platforms as they are deployed within the organization. This includes data validation, process improvements, problem-solving and any other troubleshooting as needed.
 
The Sr. Revenue Accountant is responsible to drive continuous improvement across people, processes and technologies relating to revenue accounting operations.  At times, this may involve special project work or deep dives into specific areas of concern and will likely involve partnership with accounting colleagues in other geographies to help drive overall process consistency across Pursuit.

Essential Duties:

  • Lead revenue accounting for assigned geography
  • Assist with financial and operational reporting from POS and other key systems
  • Prepare accounting entries related to the month-end close process
  • Perform account reconciliations for revenue, asset and liability accounts
  • Responsible for oversight of cash handling and daily cash balancing
  • Support and train local staff accountants in applicable accounting and control functions
  • Lead local maintenance of and adherence to generally accepted accounting standards
  • Effectively support multiple levels of operations including location managers, department managers and other members of leadership
  • Provide support for special projects and perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Behaviors:

  • Accounting or general business-related Bachelor’s degree (finance, economics, hotel/restaurant management), or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience at various levels preferred
  • Related Experience preferred in the following areas
    • Hotel/restaurant management
    • Financial planning
    • Revenue audit
    • General ledger accounting
    • AP/AR
  • Solid oral, written communication skills
  • Strong computer/systems experience and skills
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and handle large volumes of work in a precise and efficient manner.
  • Ability to communicate in a way that fosters strong, professional working relationships
  • Strong curiosity and process improvement drive
