Western Wisconsin Health is seeking a full-time Imaging Scheduler/Financial Counselor (1.0 FTE).  The Imaging Scheduler/Financial Counselor is responsible for obtaining all information necessary for the scheduling of appointments according to established protocols. This includes calling patients for reminders and prep, providing excellent customer service over the phone or in person, securing third party vendors for procedures if needed, verifying financial information prior to appointments, obtaining prior authorizations for procedures, performing general clerical work, and maintaining open lines of communication between Medical Imaging, physicians, billing, and other departments within the Hospital.  The Imaging Scheduler/Financial Counselor will need to be able to triage a wide variety of questions and requests expertly and efficiently from patients, providers, other departments, and locations as presented by phone or in person. Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Familiar with PC based hardware and software programs
  • 1+ years of experience with electronic medical records
  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or 6+ months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of related experience
  • 2+ years of experience in direct customer service
  • Medical terminology
  • Certified as a Medical Assistant
  • Prior experience with radiology orders and scheduling
  • Understanding of Insurance Products, Medicare, Medicaid, PPO’s
  • Understanding of Rural Health Clinic and Critical Access Hospital Billing Requirements
  • Previous experience in Epic

  • Maintain the integrity of highly confidential business and patient information
  • Display and promote high standards of ethical conduct and behaviors consistent with organizational standards
  • Exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and electronic medical records
  • Clearly and effectively convey information to patients
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and handle multiple tasks/projects concurrently
  • Ability to consistently carry out job responsibilities, able to acknowledge when commitments are not met, and take appropriate steps to fulfill responsibility
  • Ability to analyze, identify, and solve problems while using sound judgment
  • Maintain integrity of highly confidential business and patient information
  • Has basic billing knowledge and ability to counsel patients with questions regarding their account

 

Work schedule:

  • 1.0 FTE – 40 hours per week
  • Monday through Friday – 8:00am to 4:30pm
