Marina Supervisor - Lake Blackshear Resort

Lake Blackshear Resort / Georgia Veterans State Park, located in Cordele, Georgia, is looking for a Marina Supervisor. We offer a culture that focuses on teamwork and high levels of customer service with an environment that empowers our team members to exceed guests' expectations.

This is a seasonal position for March -October.

Lake Blackshear Resort has 10 lake cabins, 82 camp sites located on beautiful 8800-acre cypress lake with restaurant, bar, off site fitness center, conference center, marina with a lake restaurant, 18 hole-golf course designed by Denis Griffiths, fishing and more. We are managed by the Southeast's premiere hospitality management company, Coral Hospitality.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

This description is a summary of primary responsibilities and qualifications. The job description is not intended to include all duties or qualifications that may be required now or in the future.

  • Supervise daily marina operations and vessel movements
  • Ensure compliance with maritime laws and safety regulations
  • Coordinate with port authorities and logistics teams
  • Conduct safety drills and emergency response training
  • Inspect vessels for maintenance and regulatory compliance
  • Manage crew schedules and performance evaluations
  • Oversee loading and unloading of cargo
  • Maintain accurate records of operations and incidents
  • Implement environmental and safety protocols
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to marine staff

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates and vendors

  • Can complete projects and assignments thoroughly, professionally and with care
  • Able to adjust to high-pressure conditions and is open to change
  • Can assume responsibility for personal growth and development
  • Conducts him/herself (acts and dresses) professionally at all times; set standards for all associates

  • Conveys company information, decisions, or problems to appropriate parties on a timely basis

  • Must have basic knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local health, safety and legal regulations
  • Must have good mathematical and computer skills
  • High school education and relevant training and experience preferred
  • Able to timely obtain any required licenses or certificates

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Minimum lifting/pulling of 20 pounds

  • Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity
  • Hearing, writing, typing
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Must know how to swim

EXPERIENCE: You must have at least one-year verifiable work experience, preferably as a Supervisor. Prior experience supervising a staff. Must have valid driver license with good record.
