Described Duties:
1. Work cooperatively with Northwest Health Services (NHS) providers, supervisors, and personnel to carry out the goals and objectives of NHS according to governing body requirements and established internal policies and procedures.
2. Treat others respectfully whether it is a patient, fellow employee, member of management, customer, vendor or visitor to our premises.
3. Perform Lab tests sometimes using multiple pieces of equipment along with performing maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
4. Perform and report Quality Assurance controls on all tests and procedures run daily, in accordance with CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) regulations and maintain CLIA licensure.
5. Follows policy and procedure for laboratory services as requested.
6. Performs and report proficiency testing and/or quality assurance as required and maintains documentation of.
7. Perform phlebotomy procedures per protocol as directed by provider staff.
8. Prepare laboratory specimens for shipment.
9. Perform responsibilities outlined in laboratory manual - specimen processing, test performance and reporting test results.
10. Follow established infection control guidelines.
11. Maintain accurate laboratory records in neat and orderly fashion.
12. Communicate abnormal results of tests promptly to Providers.
13. Order laboratory supplies, as directed.
14. Keep the Lab adequately stocked and maintained in a clean, neat, and orderly fashion at all times.
15. Maintain lab requisition log for all labs daily.
16. Maintain current CPR certification.
17. Attend and actively participate in Clinical Staff meetings and in-services.
18. Assist with orientation of rotating clinical personnel.
19. Attend educational seminars and conferences as directed and approved by the Clinic Manager and /or Lab
Coordinator to maintain and improve expertise in laboratory services.
20. Complies with the provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996.
21. Perform other duties as assigned.
