Job Description

2026 ESY - Occupational Therapist


(2 Positions Total - K-8) 


Qualifications (Required): 



  1. Valid Occupational Therapy License.

  2. Successful experience as an occupational therapist. 

  3. Experience with students who have diverse sensory needs.

  4. Ability to relate /communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators. 

  5. Related Service Providers must commit to being present for each day of the program. See dates below for more info. 


Qualifications (Preferred):



  1. Experience working in the Malden Public Schools. 

  2. ESL Licensed or SEI Endorsement.

  3. Occupational Therapy License


Duties and Responsibilities: 



  1. Participate in two staff development meetings. 

  2. Collaborate with the Program Managers and Program Coordinator to provide direct OT (including sensory consult and/or fine motor) services to students on IEP’s.

  3. Complete planning logs for each session and maintain student attendance records. 

  4. Keep folders/portfolios with student work. 

  5. Perform other related activities as required by the program coordinator. 

  6. Write end of summer progress reports for each student serviced.


Duration: 



  • Program Administration and Implementation 103 hours total to include the following: 


    • Professional In-service Days (Date TBD 3 hours).

    • 20 days, Monday-Thursday, from July 1– August 1 (7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.). 



Stipend: $40 an hour, $4,120 total (20 days/5 hrs + 1 inservice at 3 hours)
