    About the Madawaska School Department
    The Madawaska School Department serves students in grades PreK-12 in Madawaska, ME, the most Northeastern town in the United States, and one of the stops on the SCMA Four Corners Tour.  The district has two (2) schools, the Madawaska Elementary School (PreK-6) a 2000-01 Nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School, and Madawaska Middle/High School (7-12), the 16th Ranked High School in Maine, according to the US News and World Report

    Job Summary: To provide an Educational Program for Middle School Math (Grades 6-8) and Math Intervention instruction designed to allow each and every student to achieve the State of Maine Learning Results, Madawaska School Department Learning Results and other requirements described in the Madawaska School Department Local Assessment System and to provide evidence of that achievement to the student, parents or guardians, and school officials.

     

    Qualifications: 

    • Must hold a valid Maine Department of Education certification (Middle Level Teacher Endorsement 300: Math 6-12) or be eligible for conditional or provisional certification.
    • Bachelor's degree
    • Strong knowledge of Maine Learning Results, Common Core Standards for Math, and current best practices in middle level education.
    • Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction to meet a variety of learning needs.
    • Effective classroom management skills.
    • Experience integrating technology into instruction to enhance learning.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with curriculum development.
    • Familiarity with project-based learning, interdisciplinary approaches, and student-centered instruction.
    • Commitment to equity, diversity, and fostering an inclusive classroom environment.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Plan and deliver engaging Math instruction aligned to state and district standards.
    • Design meaningful assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
    • Create a positive and supportive classroom culture that promotes academic achievement and respect.
    • Integrate various math skills across the curriculum.
    • Use data to inform instruction and participate in collaborative professional development opportunities.
    • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues to support student learning and growth.
    • Participate in school events, professional development, and other duties as assigned.
