Starting Salary: depends on experience and qualifications
- Technician I: $20.18 to $22.09
- Technician II: $21.48 to $23.51

About this Position
The Traffic Technician I or II assists with day-to-day schedules, maintenance, and repairs of the city's traffic signals, street light systems, signs, and pavement markings. They perform locates, repair faults, record data, and drive a city vehicle (bucket trucks).
The Traffic Technician works with voltages as high as 480 vacs, and they may work on a ladder or climb poles. (The max bucket truck working height could be as high as 50 feet.)
This position operates on a schedule of 10-hour days for a four (4) day work week, subject to callback and overtime as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
- 2 years (Tech I) or 3 years (Tech II) of related experience and/or training
- Possess the following International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) certifications:
- Traffic Signal Level I (Field and Construction)
- Traffic Signal Level II (Field and Construction) (Tech II only)
- Roadway Lighting Level I (preferred)
- Signs and Markings Level I (preferred)
Work Zone (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Assist and repair streetlights with voltages up to 480 vacs
- Assist in the repair of traffic signals
- Repair streetlights while leading a crew
- Repair faults
- Oversee and perform locates
- Perform duties related to sign and pavement marking maintenance
- Assist in repair of traffic signals (Tech II only)
