Senior Research Project Manager-Electrical

Description

The National Fire Protection Association’s mission is to help save lives and reduce loss with information, knowledge, and passion. An international nonprofit established in 1896, we are dedicated to the elimination of death, injury, property, and economic loss due to fire, electrical, and related hazards. The Association delivers information and knowledge through more than 300 consensus codes and standards, research, training, education, outreach, and advocacy; and by partnering with others who share an interest in furthering the NFPA mission.

Formed in 1982 as the research affiliate of NFPA, the Fire Protection Research Foundation is an independent nonprofit whose mission is to plan, manage and communicate research in support of the association.

Since then, the Foundation has facilitated major research programs (both domestic and international in scope) that address industry challenges in multiple areas, including building fire protection strategies, impact of emerging technologies on fire safety, warehouse storage protection, energy transition, wildfire, firefighter health and safety, and firefighter protective clothing and equipment, among other issues.

The NFPA Research Foundation is seeking a Senior Research Project Manager-Electrical with experience in the electrical field. The role focuses on facilitation of research projects and programs through management of financials, communications and technical support. This role also liaises with stakeholders to help shape the research including representatives from the research community, electrical industry, building design community, electrical inspectors and enforcers, NFPA technical committees, and other stakeholders. Findings from the Foundation’s critically applied research have been used by NFPA’s technical committee members and others to support the association’s fire and life safety codes and standards.
