The Associate Field Service Technician is a field-based, hands-on role focused on the physical installation and deployment of technology systems. This position plays a critical part in delivering projects by supporting Field Service Technicians and Senior Field Service Technicians with on-site work.
This is an ideal role for individuals with experience in low-voltage cabling, electrical apprenticeships, or field installations (e.g., cable technicians, structured cabling installers, AV installers) who are looking to grow their career within the IT and professional services space.
You will be working in live client environments, building, installing, and supporting the physical infrastructure that powers modern workplaces.
What You’ll Be Doing (Core Responsibilities)
Run and terminate low-voltage cabling (Cat5e/Cat6, fiber, etc.)
Mount and install equipment, including TVs, cameras, access points, and other hardware
Assist with server rack builds, cable management, and hardware installation
Support network and AV deployments in office and commercial environments
Use power tools and hand tools safely and effectively on job sites
Work at heights (ladders/lifts) and in tight spaces when required
Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
Support project teams in completing installations on time and to a high standard
Shadow senior team members and progressively take on more responsibility in the field
What We’re Looking For
We are specifically looking for candidates with hands-on, physical installation experience.
Strongly Preferred Backgrounds:
Low-voltage / structured cabling technician (e.g., ISP, telecom, or contractor experience)
Apprentice electrician
AV installer or field technician
Experience with commercial or residential installations
Core Requirements:
Comfortable using power tools, drills, ladders, and installation equipment
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical work throughout the day
Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in ceilings or tight spaces
Strong work ethic and reliability in a field environment
Willingness to learn and grow into more technical responsibilities over time
Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team
Basic understanding of technology or interest in IT systems
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
