Davenergy Solutions is currently seeking an on-site, full-time Senior Architect/Engineer (CM-SA/E) to support construction management services at a VA Medical Center in Miami, FL. This position provides construction phase technical and management support for major federally funded healthcare infrastructure projects, including utility, mechanical, and facility upgrades.

Requirements

  • Conduct portions of daily inspections of site work and building construction; document discrepancies, code violations, improper materials, or substandard workmanship
  • Monitor construction schedules and ongoing daily activities to identify and mitigate project slippage and coordinate project phasing
  • Perform engineering analysis, development, and review of plans and specifications for new work and facility improvements
  • Provide technical oversight and evaluation for all engineering disciplines related to assigned construction projects
  • Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports documenting completed work, work in progress, scheduled activities, and outstanding tasks
  • Utilize computerized construction management systems to process RFIs, track submittals, prepare draft contract modification documentation, and support project administration
  • Maintain inventories of materials, supplies, and equipment and monitor usage as required

Relevant Experience

  • Experience reviewing design and construction plans against existing site conditions
  • Experience resolving unforeseen site and design conditions and proposing cost-effective technical solutions
  • Experience conducting inspections of medical, clinical, and administrative facilities
  • Strong working knowledge of construction contract documents, including drawings, front-end, and technical specifications
  • Working knowledge of engineering services, building codes, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Ability to quickly understand and apply local, state, and federal jurisdictional requirements
  • Strong communication, documentation, and software skills
  • Experience supervising and managing personnel of diverse skill sets

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to assess existing conditions and coordinate with medical center personnel to define project scope, phasing, and operational impacts
  • Ability to prepare cost estimates and perform quantity take-offs for contract modifications
  • Ability to determine compliance of workmanship, materials, and installations with contract requirements and industry standards
  • Ability to assess project impacts in healthcare environments where patient care operations are critical
  • Independently responsible for managing technical quality, cost, and schedule across assigned projects
  • Knowledge of federal/government contracting procedures, principles, and public law
  • Ability to provide senior leadership, mentorship, and decisive technical direction

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering from an accredited institution and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in design and construction, preferably in medical facilities

OR

  • Fifteen (15) years of directly related experience in lieu of degree

Professional experience should include at least seven (7) years managing facility construction projects, including engineering oversight, schedule control, cost management, and program budgeting.
