To repair, replace, and install locks and keys, door checks, etc.
- Attend meetings and participates in departmental in-services.
- Able to install and repair locks, latches, door closers, duplicates keys and install bucks, hinges doors.
- Clean area, equipment and tools and stores them properly.
- Utilizes equipment safely.
- Completes work assignments thoroughly and in a timely manner.
- Notifies supervisor of locksmith supplies needed to keep jobs going without interruption.
- Maintain key log book for facility.
- Completes annual in-service.
- Instructs locksmith in simpler locksmith related duties.
- Maintain inventory of locks and key blanks.
- Repairs and installs locks, door checks, performs fire / smoke door inspection.
- Perform related P.M.
- Maintain key control log book correctly.
- May assist in other trades as required by the department.
- Maintains current fire safety card.
- Performs all other duties as required.
Position Requirements:
- This position requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years job-related experience.
- Desired (not required) criteria include: Minimum of 5 years job-related experience or related trade school.
