To repair, replace, and install locks and keys, door checks, etc.

• Attend meetings and participates in departmental in-services.
• Able to install and repair locks, latches, door closers, duplicates keys and install bucks, hinges doors.
• Clean area, equipment and tools and stores them properly.
• Utilizes equipment safely.
• Completes work assignments thoroughly and in a timely manner.
• Notifies supervisor of locksmith supplies needed to keep jobs going without interruption.
• Maintain key log book for facility.
• Completes annual in-service.
• Instructs locksmith in simpler locksmith related duties. 
• Maintain inventory of locks and key blanks.
• Repairs and installs locks, door checks, performs fire / smoke door inspection.
• Perform related P.M.
• Maintain key control log book correctly.
• May assist in other trades as required by the department.
• Maintains current fire safety card. 
• Performs all other duties as required.

Position Requirements:

• This position requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent and a  minimum of 5 years job-related experience.
• Desired (not required) criteria include:  Minimum of 5 years job-related experience or related trade school.
• License Locksmith
